Many consider Missouri to be a fly-over state.. oh, how they are wrong! It’s worth the stop, my friends! I’ve consolidated my favorite outdoor activities in Columbia, MO and can’t wait to share them with you! Y’all ready? Let’s go!
#1
First up is (of course) a winery. I love wine, and when it comes with a sunset? Lord help me. The view you’re about to witness is from the A-Frame at the Les Bourgeois winery.
Oh, did I mention it overlooks the Missouri River?!
At the A-Frame, the wine choices don’t disappoint and there are plenty of patio and picnic tables, so seating is never a problem. It’s the perfect getaway with a special someone or a group of girlfriends!

Getting outside and enjoying Missouri’s fresh air is definitely a must-do. I don’t kayak often but love to when I get the chance! Finger Lakes is the perfect place to go! You can rent a kayak for $30 per day. The rental process is really simple and, in my opinion, it’s worth the money!
The water trail runs about 4.5 miles long, so get ready for a little sun tan and arm workout!
(Take the road less traveled)

At number three comes a very unique hiking experience. If you like to climb rocks and look for fossils, the Pinnacles is for you! You can climb so high you’re overlooking the trees.
The trail is off 63 HW and the turn to get there is pretty abrupt, so drive slow! Also, if you have a choice, hike and climb this trail during the fall! The vibrant colors of the trees are stunning.
And with all of these activities you’re going to build up an appetite!
Here are some of my favorite food & drink locations in the Columbia area:
The Roof (cocktails)
Sparkys (icecream)
Ernies (breakfast)
Keep that adventurous spirit, friends! This world is meant to be seen –
Until the next time!
XX,
Rebecca
