We are so excited to continue the Ultimate Guide to Kansas City by featuring the heart beat of KC – SPORTS! Each week we’ll be sharing a new game day experience with you. First at bat, KC Royals!
Every Royals fan knows game day is filled with KC pride, oceans of blue and shared love for America’s past time. While all of this is great, we’re here to highlight some of the best food, views and entertainment Kauffman Stadium has to offer. Who’s ready to experience game day from the eyes of a millennial? Let’s go, KC!
Our Experience
We got to go behind the scenes on a typical game day at the K! Here’s a look at our favorite moments –
Watching batting practice:
In the press room… pretending to take questions, of course!
Trying on the World Series ring (clearly overjoyed):
Meeting Salvy:
Spending some time field-level:
Best Picture Spots
Remember that famous billboard near Westport with Salvy doing the ‘Salvy Splash’? It was such a hit, they’ve recreated it on a wall near the Price Chopper Mini K. Go check it out!
There’s no better view than behind the fountains – You get the full view of the stadium and the ocean of blue that fills it. Be quick with your pictures when the fountains come on! They’re only up for a short amount of time so hurry over!
Best Food Options
Kansas City Baking Co.
Location: Near the Diamond Club
They have a new signature every home stand – How cool is that? For our game on September 28th they offered the Fall Orchard Sundae. Imagine a fresh cinnamon roll topped with an apple-flavored liquid nitrogen ice-cream, apple slices and melted caramel. Yep, it’s good! Check out their special the next time you’re in!
Craft and Draft
Location: Loge Level along the 3rd Base Line
Truffle Tots: These may have truffle fries beat! They’re cooked just right, and the portion is enough to share with a friend (or even two). They’re addicting, so be prepared to finish the serving!
Jalepeno Popper Pizza: This thin-crust pizza is drowned with creamy cheese, vegetables and stuffed peppers. The flavor will keep you coming back for more!
The Sweet Baby Rays BBQ Pitt
Location: Near the fountains in the outfield
Cheesy Corn Brisket Nacho Helmet: The name of this meal speaks for itself. If you like cheesy corn and brisket, these nachos will leave you satisfied!
*HUGE thank you to the Royals organization for showing us around!
Stay tuned because next we we’re covering a team that’s currently 4-0. Go KC!
xx – Bec
